About

Jeff Pluta has been working with young people for almost twenty years in a number of capacities.

The core of Jeff’s career centers around a decade teaching Special Education and being a Transition Coordinator in public schools. As Dover High School’s first Transition Coordinator, he developed a community-based transition program helping students of all abilities discover their passion and work toward their next step. In addition to working in school during the year, Jeff spent four summers teaching at the Summer Institute for the Gifted in Austin, TX. He served as a Dean on campus during his final two summers at the residential program for gifted and talented students.

Prior to his time at Dover, Jeff founded Amped for Education, an international nonprofit that built three schools in Central America, and hosted hundreds of US students on service learning trips abroad. Amped operated one of the centers for four years, training, staffing, and creating curriculum involving monthly trips in the community. Jeff led the effort in developing relationships there, overseeing construction, and creating the framework for repeatable service learning trips, while living in Nicaragua growing the company.

Jeff’s work has come full circle, as he founded TrueNorth Career Services and began providing transition and employment services in 2025. While he has worked with individuals of all ages at different stages of their employment journeys, Jeff enjoys working with young people developing pre-employment skills and helping navigate some of the individual’s first job experiences. He takes pride in helping people highlight their strengths and what they are good at, while discovering their passions.

Aside from working in the employment and education sectors, Jeff is also a college baseball coach with twenty seasons of experience. He is currently the Head Coach at Great Bay Community College in Portsmouth, NH.
